Sometimes the content of user-created mods for video games can outshine what’s actually present in the main game, and that appears to be the case in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, where one modder has added Kermit the Frog into the anime-based fray. As a result, there’s little question that gamers will now have a new go-to combatant whenever they boot up the title on PC, as Kermit looks capable of laying a very serious beatdown on even the most notoriously powerful heroes and villains from the Dragon Ball universe.
The YouTube gaming channel Dante’s Gaming felt so inspired by the fan-made addition to Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 this individual opted to create a stunning montage of the amphibian, which has only recently started to gain some traction despite initially being posted back in May. With that said, it’s great to finally see the true power of this The Muppets mainstay put on display for all the world to see, and it’s truthfully better late than never that fans discovered how devastatingly hard Kermit can make Rainbow Connections to the jaws of his opponents.
Guest characters in fighting games have become somewhat of a norm within the genre nowadays, with the likes of Fatal Fury‘s Geese joining Tekken 7 being a more recent example of this. Dragon Ball titles, on the other hand, have never been keen on offering up crossover characters, which is a fact that’s sure to strike many as a little odd. Still, it also explains why fans are so quick to mod in their own favorites – not that fans would have been slow to add their own fighters anyway.
As long as there are fight titles, there will be user-created content for them. Situations like Overwatch characters joining Street Fighter 5 or Ridley being added to Super Smash Bros. will continue to happen, and as long as it bears results as comical as Kermit the Frog pummelling Goku then fans are sure to welcome it with open arms.
Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is currently available across PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. It is set to arrive on the Nintendo Switch on September 22, 2017.
